We are surrounded by forces that can be felt but are not always seen. Our surroundings shape our perception and envelop us in energy and emotion. Artists transform the invisible, creating something that can be seen, touched, and absorbed. Tap into the energies of our world — the calm before a storm, quiet, misty morning, the electricity of connection. An Atmosphere can be of excitement, anticipation, or an atmosphere of quiet. Atmosphere is on view at the KAA from August 6th through August 30th, 2026.
Opening Reception: Sunday, August 9th from 5-7pm
Also on View: Works by Spotlight Artist Timothy Hinkle
Timothy Hinkle is a mixed media artist based in Denmark, Maine. His work begins with cut and pressed flowers, flora, and other natural materials, which he combines with paper, paint, and other traditional materials. Through this process, Hinkle transforms the transient beauty of nature into enduring, permanent works of art.
Rooted in the rhythms of the natural world, his practice reflects on the cycles of growth, decay, and renewal. Rather than focusing on nature only at its “peak,” Hinkle finds beauty in every stage of life, from budding to bloom to wither. Each piece becomes a meditation on impermanence, capturing the evolving essence of the seasons and the quiet poetry found in their transitions.
Hinkle’s work has been featured in group exhibitions throughout New England and was recently showcased in a solo exhibition at the Denmark Arts Center in Denmark, Maine. He has been invited to exhibit as a guest artist at Gallery 302 in Bridgton, Maine in 2026 and has been featured in the international art publication, Spreads Magazine.
Art Intake for Exhibiting Members: Monday, August 3rd from 2-6pm.
