Award-winning artist Asia Scudder has trained extensively in pencil illustration, with a focus on capturing natural form. Her background in environmental and wildlife studies informs her work, blending scientific observation with artistic practice. Illustration, for Scudder, is a discipline of seeing—which she integrates into her teaching approach. In addition to illustration, she is a sculptor known for her wire work, often described as “drawings in baling wire,” exploring line, structure, and three-dimensional form.
