KAA 2010 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

This Spring, the Kittery Art Association awarded the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship in the amount of $1000 to Leigh Fraser, a R.W. Traip Academy Graduate who has spent her entire young life loving all forms of art.

Leigh’s enthusiasm is boundless! She looks forward to attending Monserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts to study illustration in the fall. About her early years in art, Leigh says “For the past four years I have lived in the art room, hiding amongst the paints and brushes. One day I hope to combine my love of art with my love of pop culture into a form of visual entertainment journalism”. With the help of the Marcia Ryder Scholarship, Leigh will be able to further her career in the visual arts.

Additional Scholarships were awarded to Nate Thayer, to attend UNH Summer Music Camp, and Ned Masury, to attend Haystack, an art intensive workshop offered to selected high school juniors throughout the state of Maine. All student recipients came highly recommended by their teachers.

All of the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarships are made possible by the enthusiastic attendance and generous donations at KAA fundraisers. The Kittery Art Association continues to collect money to support deserving young students who wish to continue their art education.

Donations can be made to:
