Artists drop off dates and times are:

Marcia Abigail Ryder 1952 - 2008

The Kittery Art Association is currently establishing the Marcia Abigail Ryder Scholarship Fund to Perpetuate Marcia’s work inspiring, educating and encouraging young artists in the seacoast area. Scholarship funds are awarded to students who have been recommended to us in both music and the arts throughout the year. Marcia was respected by so many people in the community for her work supporting the arts, and was admired by all who knew her.

Symposium on Russell Cheney & Yankee Moderation in Maine
A one day symposium sponsored by the Kittery Art Association in conjunction with the Portsmouth Athenaeum will be held on August 2, 2008.
Yankee Modernism in Maine will explore the inter-war decades of the 1920s and 30s. Painters from the Ogunquit art schools, Russell Cheney, Marsden Hartley and writer F.O. Matthiessen and his friends took a characteristically New England approach to the Modern movement.
The day includes five lectures, a cold lunch, tour of the Cheney Studio, contemporary exhibits at the Kittery Art Association and a reception at the Athenaeum.

Kids' Open Studios
Kids' Open Studios returns this summer for ages 6-12.
Classes will be held on four Wednesdays in July from 9:30 to 11:00.

African Drumming On The KAA Deck
Ben Baldwin's African Drumming On The KAA Deck is returning this July. No experience or equipment is needed. Workshops will be held:
July 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2008 from 7:00 till 8:30 PM.
$5 per person or $15 per family.


Friday Night Music on the Deck
KAA welcomes The Barley Cats, Will Simpson and Colby Millet.
They will be playing original songs and classic rock. Something for everyone!

Plein Air:
Back by popular demand, we will be offering a new Plein Air schedule of beautiful private and public locations in and around Kittery for members to come and create their art while meeting fellow KAA members.

Painters , poets, writers, photographers, and artists in all media are welcome! We will meet on Thursdays 4-7PM, in June, July and August. Private gardens, fields, barns, salt marsh and open ocean are some of the settings you can look forward to seeing. This program is free and open to Kittery Art Association Members only.

We will have the opportunity to show our work accumulated over the summer, in the Plein Air Show at the Art Association beginning September 11th, all artists who participate this summer are welcome in this exhibit! Watch for specific details of the Plein Air Schedule to be coming soon....


Adult Open Studio:
